August,20, 2017 . Armenian Jazz Highlights was proud to co-organize the live broadcasting of a joint musical performance , where the jazz musicians from Russia and US at Koktebel Jazz Party 2017, went live to join Vahagn Hayrapetyan’s quintet in Yerevan. Together, they performed the lively “Straight, No Chaser” composition by Thelonious Monk. The Armenian side of the show was represented by: Tigran Harutyunyan(trumpet), Davod Melkonyan (alt saxophone), Simon Dolmazyan (bass), Arman Mnatsakanyan (drums), Vahagn Hayrapetyan (piano).
Armenian State Jazz Big Band is hitting the road for a grand tour in Russia !!! It includes the south of Russia and culminates in Moscow on September 19, 2017 at Dom Muziki.
13-19 September, 2017. The Armenian State Jazz Big Band is hitting the road for a grand tour in Russia’s south. It will include cities like Sochi, Krasnodar, Rostov, where the band will take part at the Rostov International Jazz Fest. The tour will culminate by a concert in Moscow on September 19, 2017 at Dom Muziki.
Armen Hyusnunuts, the artistic director of the band has taken it seriously and prepared a real treat for the Russian audience- the gems of the band’s repertoire in swing, ethnic and jazz styles will be performed in the series of tour concerts. The band will feature famous guests, like Vahagn Hayrapetyan ( piano and vocal) as well as Jivan Gasparyan-junior (doudouk), the famous follower of his legendary grandfather and Artak Nersessian (harmonica).
The tour is organized by the Esse Music Agency and supported by the RA Ministry of Culture and Armenian Jazz Highlights.
